Devices > FTP Server
Creating a New FTP Server
- Select SYSTEM ADMIN >
DEVICES in the Navigation Menu Bar to open the “Devices”
screen.
- Hover over the FTP SERVER image.
- Click NEW.
- This is the “FTP Server Devices” screen for entering information
about your FTP Server so DocuBreeze can use it as a resource for Collection
and/or Distribution of files.
The items below describe the fields. Remember that fields marked with
a red asterisk are Required.
Create Device
Name: This is the Name of your FTP server, which will appear whenever
you use it within the DocuBreeze system. Example: "Konica Minolta
FTP" Required.
Description: You may include a brief description of your FTP site.
This is helpful, but not required. Example: "Document Archive"
Device Information Tab
- Host Address: The address of your FTP server. Example, ftp.konicaminolta.us.
Required.
- Subdirectory: Folders beyond the parent folder where you want DocuBreeze
to search. Example, pubs/uploads.
Note: the directory must already exist on the FTP server. DocuBreeze
will not create directories on the server.
- Port Number: The number of the port that your FTP server uses to
connect to your network. 21 is the default port. Required.
- Allow Anonymous Users: Mark this device as accessible by anonymous
FTP login accounts.
If checked, you do not have to add accounts on the Accounts tab. An "Anonymous"
user will be created automatically.
Note: The FTP server must be physically configured to allow anonymous users
in order for this selection to work.
Accounts Tab
- Account Name: One FTP site can have many different users and accounts.
List the account name that you will use. Example, “Legal Department.”
Required
- Description: You may include a brief description of your account.
For example, “Contracts, pricing, guidelines, etc.”
- Login Name: Valid FTP user account name. This will be the same as
the login name that you use to access this FTP site through any other means.
Required
- Login Password: Password corresponding to the "Login Name"
entered above. Required
- Confirm Password: Duplicate your password exactly. Required
- Completed samples are shown here (for both tabs).
- To add Account Information, enter the required information and click ADD.
You must save after adding this information.
- To save your FTP site as a device, you do not need to enter any information
in the Access tab.
- Enter the required device information (main screen and primary tab) and
click SAVE. A successful registration
brings you back to the “FTP Server Devices” screen, with a message
saying that your device has been saved.

Edit or Delete an FTP Server Device
- Select SYSTEM ADMIN >
DEVICES > FTP
SERVER > EDIT/DELETE.
- You are brought to the “Search” screen. Criteria will automatically
be included in this screen. Click Search.
Select the device you would like to edit from the list displayed.
- Edit: To edit a FTP server device, it must first be unmounted. Select
the device and click Unmount. Click Save. Select the file server
and click Edit Once you have finished your changes, click Save.
Remount the edited file server, click Mount and finally, click
Save.
- Delete: To delete the FTP server device, it must be unmounted. Mark
the checkbox of the server to be deleted and click Unmount . Select the device
and click Delete. Click Save.
Note: If there are any conflicts that prevent you
from deleting the device, they will be identified on the screen in red
text; and all conflicts must be resolved before you can delete the device.
