Points > SMTP Server
Create a New SMTP Server Distribution Point
- In the Navigation menu, select DISTRIBUTION
> POINTS > SMTP
SERVER > NEW.
- This brings you to the “SMTP Server Distribution Points” screen,
where you enter information for SMTP Server Distribution Points.
The fields are described below:
- Name: Name for the Distribution Point, which you may want the same
as the SMTP Server, to avoid confusion. For example, “E-mail2.”
Required.
- Description: A description of the Distribution Point. For example,
“Outgoing Mail.”
- SMTP Server: Choose the SMTP Server that you want to establish as
a Distribution Point. For example, “E-mail.” Required.
- Recipient Address List: Enter e-mail addresses to which you want
to Distribute Files. Required Separate the addresses
with commas (i.e. mike@one.com, tom@192.168.1.1, etc.)
- Subject Line: Enter the Subject Line for the e-mail when it is sent.
Required
- Message: Enter body text for the message that will be e-mailed by
the system.
- Account Information: Choose the account that you want to access from
the drop down menu.
- Login: Enter the login name for the account that you selected. This
field will fill automatically when you select an account.
- Add to Group(s): You can add this point to an existing group at this
point without having to access Distribution Groups.
A sample of a saved“SMTP Server Distribution Points” screen
is shown. Click SAVE to establish
your SMTP distribution point.

Edit or Delete an SMTP Server Distribution Point
- Select DISTRIBUTION
> POINTS > SMTP
SERVER > EDIT/DELETE.
- You are brought to the “Search” screen.Enter criteria for
a search. Click SEARCH.
- Select the distribution point you would like to Edit from the list displayed.

Edit: To Edit the distribution point, change any information and
resave the information. The only information that cannot be changed is
the distribution point name. Click SAVE.
- Delete: To Delete the distribution point, click DELETE.
Note: Conflicts
preventing deletion of the distribution point are identified, and must must
be resolved before you can perform a Delete.
